Process Writing

Putting themselves into the slippers of the students and writing something on the basis of a previous stimulus that might generate ideas represents a good starting point to raise personal awareness about working writing strategies.

The procedure suggested wants to promote reflection on innovative practices.

Trainees are not asked to contribute written production following a model text as it generally happens in classroom contexts, rather the aim is to implement process writing, a strategy recalling what effectively happens when someone actually writes.

The guidelines suggested include different steps to get to an adequate final product. The idea is taken from: H. Douglas Brown, Teaching by Principles. An Interactive Approach to Language Pedagogy. Second Edition, Longman 2001.

Process writing implies subsequent steps that can be accessed at: http://www.marilenabeltramini.it/materiali/sals/writing_kelly.htm
