Caterina Sguassero - The Last Movie I Saw.
[author: Caterina Sguassero - postdate: 2007-11-04]

The last movie I saw.

The last movie that I saw is "A beautifull mind". I saw it yesterday evening. The film is about a man, called John Nash. He is a mathematician, one of the most intelligent scientists in the USA.

The story begins in the early years of Nash's life at Priceton University as he develops his "original idea" that will revolutionize the world of mathematics.  After the conclusion his studies as a student at Princeton, he accepts a prestigious appointment at the Massachuttes Institute of Technology (MIT), along with his friends Sol and Bender.

Five years later while teaching a class on Calculus, he meets Alicia, a student with whom he falls in love and eventually marries. He also encounters a mysterious Departement of Defence agent, William Parcher.

Nash is invited to facilitie the Pentagon to crack a complecs encripton. Parcher later encourages Nash to look for patterns in magazines and newspapers, to find a Soviet plot. But later on, Nash develops schizophrenia and delusional episodes that distruct the relationships whit his wife and friends.

John takes an insuline shok therapy session, but the medications create a negative  effect on his intellect and the relationships with his wife. Nash secretly stops taking his medication and starts to meet the people who is living only in his head, not in the true world.

Alicia realizes John isn't taking his medicinals, and she runs to the phone to call the psychiatric hospital. Then, Charles,  a friend, Marcee, the niece's friend and Parcher, the agent discuss to kill his wife because she is  only a Sovietic's agent who wants to spy him.

When Alicia leevs the house in terror, he observes that Marcee is the same age that she was when he met her for the first time some years before, only then does he accept that all three of these people are, in fact, part of his psychosis.

Nash tries to ignore his hallucinations. He still suffers from hallucinations and sometimes he has to check if the new people he meets are real.

He shared the nobel prize in the 1994.

I like this film because is a true story and because it explains how a man who has a very serious problems can do the impossible, even share a Nobel prize.
