Finding out about Chesil Beach
We have come across a reference to Chesil Beach reading the homonym novel by Ian McEwan.
It is a beach in the Dorset county, in the south-west of England.
It is 18 miles long and it plays an important role on the Dorset coast, because it protects inlands from the sea; it separates the sea from the lagoon behind it and it is made up of cobblestones, that vary in size from West Bay to Portland.
Chesil Beach is accompanied by an abundant variety of plants.
