The letter I am going to analyze can be subdivided into two parts: the first one is made up by a further letter, wrote to Mr B. by Lady Davers (his sister), the second one reports Pamela’s idea about the behaviour of rich people in front of the pour.

Lady Davers writes the letter to let her brother think about the situation and to convince him not to seduce more Pamela.

She says that, if she not repels him, she will be a kept mistress or a wife.

After that the woman reminds his brother that their family is as ancient as the best in the kingdom, and so he can not ruin the name of the family wedding a maid-servant.

Pamela sends this letter to her parents in the first moment because she want to let them know that someone protects her, and than because she wants to underline the idea of noblemen about poor people.

This is the most important theme of the letter.

Pamela says that at birth people were all equal in front of God.

To support her thesis Pamela uses argumentations referring to the social status, the religious and the philosophical aspect.

In the end of the letter Pamela calls Lady Davers “lowly” and herself “high-minded”. tthis because she hopes to be not too proud to behave like the Lady.
