The short story Eveline is organized into two parts:

1)   The first part introduces the reader to the story: we acquire information about the protagonist (Eveline is an adolescent as you can understand reading the title) and about the other main characters. After that the reader knows something about the protagonist's background: her family, economical, social, and emotional situation. In this part of the story nobody acts: for example Eveline is sat at the window watching out.You feel immersed in her difficult situation: she would like to leave home because of her family's problems (her father was always drunk and violent). Her dream was to escape with her lover Frank. But she is not able to take a decision.

2)  The second part is the conclusion of the story: here the setting (where and when events     take place) is different: it is no more Eveline's house but the pier. Here she should take a ferry  to go to Buenos Aires with Frank. Eveline decides not to act: so the conclusion of the story is not very sad.
