Finding out about Chesil Beach

Chesil Beach lies on the Dorset Coast, in the South - East of Great Britain. It lies beteen Portland and Weymouth. It is a shingle beach where stones gradually decrease in size from Portland to West Bay. Its technical name is a tombolo: it creates a natural defence protecting the coast from the waves of the English Channel.

Chesil Beach is a protected wildlife site because of his shape and flora peculiarities.
