  1. Hamlet compares two pictures, the first one is his father's portrait and the second one is his uncle Claudius' portrait. In his comparison Hamlet points out the differences between the behaviour and the personality between the two brothers.
  2. Hamlet criticizes her mother for her marriage to an inferior husband.
  3. Hamlet's mother does not want he to speak more because she knows hamlet is right.

  1. The description of Hamlet's father refers to mythological figures to justify father's noble looks, for example he compares his father to divinities like Jove, Mars and Mercury. On the contrary, he uses simple metaphors describing his uncle's worthlessness.
  2. What kind of imagery is predominant in his accusations against his mother? - Justice.
  3. What feelings are mainly conveyed in Hamlet's and the Queen's words respectively?
  • - Hamlet: hatred, disgust, scorn and indignation.
  • - Queen: shame, remorse and sadness.
