Why I’m proud of being an adolescent                   adolescence

I think that “proud” is a unusual word to define what I feel about the current period of my life. I’ve never asked me if I was proud of being an adolescent (and I’m not sure I’m so proud about this …).

I can say I’m happy of being an adolescent, because it’s a great period of life: you can learn a lot of things, start taking decisions and acting autonomously, but also being still protected by your parents. And I think this is the best period of life, because you can meet new people and make friendships that might last for years.

I can also say that I’m proud of what I’m doing during this period and how I’m spending my teenage period. I’m growing up. I’m proud to be an adolescent these times because I have a lot of opportunities: the only thing I should do is exploit these opportunities using my abilities.

So I’m proud of being an adolescent, because I have all my life in front of me and if I will be able to get the best of this period, my life will be better than I could expect. I’m proud of me because I’m collecting experience for my future.
