TO APPROACH A LITRARY TEXT

To analyze a literary text, first of all, you have to consider the title; then consider  the lay out, read the poem and finally, you should ask yourself some questions, that will help you to create expectations, interpretation on the text.

The analysis is useful, especially in poetry, because it allows a more careful comprehension of the text, so you can discover the meaning of every word in lines and verse.

Between different poems, narrators and characters there's a link. While the narrator is writing, he remembers texts the  read in the past,. Therefore in every piece of workthere are some links to other poem or texts. This is intertextuality; it allows us to know what kind of texts the narrator is familiar with.

Comprehension relies on style of the narrator. The style is the one chosen by the author  who writes interrelating words. The interrelation involve sound, order, choice of words and figures of speech ( for example: alliteration, similarity, metaphor).

Well, we, readers, have to read beyond the text and play with our fancy .

when he read s a text, a reader builds it up (Umberto Eco)
