I think that in these pages we understood that the World changed radically in the Renaissance. A lot of changes happened at the end of the 15th century. America was discovered, modern English bore. There were a lot of developments in art, philosophy and learning inspired by the rediscovery of the classical world of Greece and Rome. Elisabeth I reigned in England, consolidating the Tudor dinasty and working for stability. The Reformation of Henry VIII in 1533 changed England's religious life.

Elisabeth had to win the support of Catholics and Protestants and had to make sure to be at the head of the Church of England. Elisabeth also had to face serious economic problems caused both by the increase in population and price inflaction. Elisabeth's long reign saw also prosperity, infact it was one of the most interesting and impostant periods in England history.

Litteratre was inspired by Italian poets and scholars, and flourished under the patronage of the court. It was the golden age of drama. Theatre focused on man and William Shakespeare reached a depth without precedents in portraing life without imposing hai personal perspectives.

Poetry was more personal and private, and reached unprecedented peaks of lyricism. This was tha age of question. Changes brought uncertainty and restlessness, but also vitality and creative tension.
