My first day of 2017
I spent the first day of this new year with my family. We went to a nice village in the mountains, called Sauris. There wasn’t the snow but it was quite cold. We got up very early that morning, around 8 o’ clock, we got ready and we left from home at about 9.30 am. Sauris is a small village in the north of the region Friuli Venezia Giulia, more exactly in Carnia. The journey took about two hours, and we arrived in Sauris at about 11 o’clock. First of all, we had a walk in the village’s centre and then we had brunch in a local restaurant. I ordered a panino with speck and lemon tea, my sister and my parent preferred a piece of crostata and tea. Afterwards, we had another walk in the countryside of the village, we undertook a nice path, but later we decide to return back because the street brought to the forest and it was too cold. Then, we took the car and went in Sauris di Sotto, we visited the church of the village and had a walk around the village’s typical houses. Before coming back home we had a snack in a modern local near the parking: we had some local cured meats like prosciutto di Sauris, speck and frico with polenta. In the road to return we stopped in Venzone and had a walk along the main street of the town. At around 6 p.m. we came back home. At the end of the journey I was satisfied of my first day of 2017, I spent a fantastic day in the middle of the nature, with the lovely company of my family, and I hope that this new year will be full of happiness like this first day.
