In England to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the Firs World War, the 14-18Now organization, that ask every year to the artist of the country to created a new work for the anniversary of the UK’s First World War, decided to choose the project of two novelists: Kate Pullinger and Neil Bartlett. They project consist to write a letter to the Unknown Warrior.
Their project invited everyone to step back from the public ceremonies and take a few private moments to think. During this moment is important to reconsider the what is the war, what people know about that war? They only said to the people to send a personal message to this soldier, a man who served and was killed during World War One
In my opinions there weren’t negatives things to said about this project. This project give the possibility to everyone to reflect about the war, what is a war, what the word war means and what are the consequences of it. Write a letter to the Unknown soldier means to write a letter to an important people that fight for his country, to liberated it, to ensure our liberty. Reading the letters many people identify their selves as parents, lovers, friends of this soldier and try to write a letter that could be similar to the ones that he could had received. Others write to him to narrated what is happening today, or to comported the was that he fought with the once that our soldiers are still fighting.
