I read this book in a short time because I found very addictive.
The novel is set about 1950s, and is about a Irish young woman, Eilis Lacey, who thanks to a priest moves to the USA. She tries to integrate in the new "world" when there seems to be successful, a tragedy forces her to return in Ireland.
The book is structured in a simple and elegant way. It is full of dialogues that have the function to place the reader in the various events, involving him with the throughts of characters.
In addition, is fascinating the personal and psychological growth that the author is making to Eilis . In fact, initially , she was shy and insecure ; but then she fails to integrate into the American world and gain confidence in the choices that always take the first left to others.
