EXERCISE 1:

I normally ride my bike to work, but today I'm taking the bus. I have to take the bus because my bike was stolen last night. I realised that someone has taken it after I have found the garden gate open. I am really annoyed with myself because I shouldn't remember to lock the gate before I went out last night. If I had locked the gate, the burglar won't get into my garden and stolen my bike.

DESCRIBING A BOOK: THE HEARTBREAKERS

The novel is set in the USA, it is written by Ali Novak and it's narrated by a 1^st person narrator. The main characters are Stella, student; Oliver, singer of the band the Heartbreakers and many other characters. The story tells about a girl, Stella who has a sister, Cara who has cancer. His sister unlike her loves the Heartbreakers and for her birthday would go and see them but she can't move for the disease. Stella wants to give her a present, and so she goes in Chicago to see them concert. She meets the singer of the band of which he falls in love and spend a lot of time with the band having fun. It eventually leads to Cara it's beautiful birthday gift. I think it was a very good read, and I would recommend it. The writing was excellent and it made me happy. I found it very romantic and it hold my attention. I couldn't put it down.
