First of all I’m going to define what is a ritual. A  ritual is a representative action that help to express the deepest thoughts and feelings due to our life’s more relevant events.

In the specific the funeral ritual helps us accepting the death, encourages the expression of pain, offers support to mourners but above all creates a situation of hope and raise the spirt of the alive.

A war memorial as the same function but on a massive scale. The war memorial indeed is a building, monument, statue or other edifice to celebrate the outcome of a fight or to commemorate dead soldiers.

Instead the funeral rite is a ceremony connected with the burial of the body of a dead person. Funerary comprise the complex of beliefs and observes used to remember and respect the loss of someone. A funeral is not only the rite itself but also monuments and prayers.

Additionally, funerals often have religious meaning like helping the soul of the defunct reaching the paradise, resurrection or rebirth.
