This book is divided into small stories. The first short story takes up three pages and it is titled “When the Sun Went Down”.

The main characters are two brothers who are miners: Tom and Jack.

It is written by Henry Lawson and he was a true Australian.

The novel is set in mine and I hated it, because it tells a quarrel between two brothers; a disaster at the mine almost kills one of them, the other, Tom tries to save him using an old damp passage, closed by a shaft.

After great difficulty he listen Jack’s voice. Eventually they were saved.
