Eight years ago when I was a child, with my parents I went to see the largest and interesting zoo in the world. I could see lions, bears, tigers, snakes and many other dangerous animals. I enjoyed it very much, so at the end of the tour we went to eat something, as we were going to set us up for lunch we heard shouting behind us, when we turned we saw a huge tiger that had escaped both we very calmly. We went inside a farther store and were able to escape. My parents were very scared so we are no longer returned to the zoo but it was very interesting to see the characteristics of the animals that live on Earth.

Maybe this surprise you, but using imagination and creativity when study helps you to be a good learner. Look for interesting connections between the thing you are learning. Use humour, be curios and experiment with your normal routine activities.

It's important think about your learning. Think about what motivates you. Think about things that were successful or not so successful in your last project. Keep a diary of your learning and write about what was easy and what was difficult.

E BE EFFECTIVE

You need to be organised and manage your time. You can't work when you are tired or stressed and you need a place to work that suits your personal study style.

A BE ACTIVE

It's important to take responsibility for your studies. You don't have wait for the teacher to tell you – you can look for new ways to learn. You should also always ask your teacher if you need more help or explanations.

M BE MOTIVATED

Motivation is very important. Think about why you are learning English and why it is important for the future. Celebrate your successes – even little ones! Make a note of your achievements to encourage you. Find support from friends or Internet pals.

Use the past simple to talk about events started and finished in the past, where the exact time is important.

Use time expressions such as when, ago, last week, etc. with the past simple to talk about an exact moment in the past.

(es. When did you meet her? I met her two days ago)

Go has two past participles: been and gone.

Been means travelled to and returned.

Gone means left and not returned yet.

I've been to the supermarket.= I'm back now.

She's gone shopping = She hasn't come back yet.
