Pag. 90 ex. 1
In the first image, we can see a structure of theatre newest then the other in the second image.
We can also see that in the central pit we have the stage and in front of that many seats for spectators.
All over the theatre walls we can see three tiers, where we can find many boxes for the spectators that belong to higher social classes.
The theatre is covered by a ceiling with electric lighting.
In the second image, we can see a theatre from Elizabethan Reign.
It is, in the image, polygonal in shape. The stage is a rectangular platform and it is in the centre of the theatre. Here we have also an area with no roof and no seats, it was occupied by spectators who could only pay the basic admission.
Around the walls, we can see three tiers of galleries provided better and more expansive seats for the higher social classes, like in the first image.
There isn’t no ceiling, so the performance took place during the day. We can see also a flag form the top of the theatre, it meant that a show was in progress.
