CLEOPATRA’S CHARACTERIZATION

In this text I’m going to explain the parts of Antony and Cleopatra in which a reader can understand a charcterization of Cleopatra. To do this I uses the scene two of the second act of the tragedy written by William Shakespeare in 1606.

Mecenate describes Cleopatra like a “most triumphant lady”, thanks to this, a reader can connote a figure of the queen of Egypt as a beatiful woman.

After that, I’m going to use Enobardo’s subject to characterize Cleopatra: he describes Cleopatra’s royal boat like a nicest boat in the word. Thanks to this an intelligent reader can understand that a boat is a metaphor of an Egyptian queen: she is characterized like a most beautiful woman in the world.

In conclusion, Cleopatra’s figure is more characterized in the aspect of her appearance: she is characterized like a beautiful woman.
