Contemporary teenagers like selfies because they love being recognised.

In all the ages human being needed to be recognised.

Before selfies there were photos, and before them there were portraits.

We need to be recognised because if we are we feel important to someone.

We need to be important because if we are, it means that we are good in the way we are, and we feel good with us.

Another reason why teenagers love selfies is that selfies are a good way to communicate, or we think they are.

Nowadays there are a lot of social network in which we can publish our selfies, thoughts or both of them.

In this way other people can see what we think and who we are.

Obviously they can't know who we really are, so I don't think is the best way to communicate. The best is meet someone and talk with him.
