Dad said how about a toast in that moment and said Happy New Year to everybody. Than he asked what were their New Year's resolutions and started with Frances.

Frances said he was going to look for something more exciting to do that year, he meant a new job. Than he asked what about Ian and if he were going to try and stop being so boring and maybe get a life.

Ian asked Frances if he would mind of his business. 
Mum said come on to Ian. He had just told to them what he was planning to do that year.
Ian said he was going to stop biting his nails. That was what he were going to do.
Mum said well done dear to him. Than she asked why not started getting a hair cut more often, too. She said he did look a little scruffy, and he really should started working harder for college, his grades weren't good enough last term. Finally said while he was at it, why not started checking out the places next year and...
Ian said nag, nag, nag! Than he said ok to his mum, alright, enough! He would first decided in what he would have like to become when he finished school and then he would checked out the universities. Finally he asked if she was satisfied at that moment.
Mum asked to Frances if it was his 21st year that year.
Frances said it was the Ian's 18th, too
Ian asked how about having a joint party than. Than he asked it would be fun, as they known, music. Finally he asked if there were some ideas.
Frances said their restaurant caters for parties at Feathers' Hotel. Than said they had got some great rooms for parties. 
Dad said if that would have been awfully expensive.
Frances said no to him. He didn't think so. He asked he could found out if they like. He said he could asked them about how much it would have costed per person, if there would have been a live band or a DJ or how big the ball rooms were.
Mum said he had to do that.
Dad said there was also the second hall. The could hired that for a night.
Ian said aw, that place! He said he had spent q3 years trying to get out of school. He said they didn't make him went back there.

Dad proposed to spend more money for a good band and spend less money to rent the school hall.

Frances said that was a good idea and proposed to hire a rock band; Ian proposed a blues band and the mum proposed a flok band.

Daddy, to joke, proposed to hire the town choir.

Ian suggested to start thinking about which band to hire and asked to the other family members if the knew some bands' names.

Daddy told that he heard about the "Cat Fish Brothers".

All the family members were in agreement with him.

Mom said to start thinking about who to invite.

Dad said they could invite about 50 people each and mum said that was perfect and that they had to invite Uncle Rob.
Ian, joking, asked his mother if he was really his brother, since he had a  better sense of humor.
Dad scolded Ian telling him not to be rude to his mother.
The mother thanked her father and told Frances to ask her restaurant for the hotel hall. 
Dad said this would be an expensive year, even if it was only the first day.
