“At the beginning were the Celts”

At the beginning, the Island was inhabited by the Celts. Twenty-seven tribes populated it, forging a population of about 1 million habitants, whose life expectancy was about 35-40 years. Almost everybody used to lose one or both parents by the age of 15, eat bread and soups such as stew or porridge and a lot of men preferred drinking beer rather than any other beverage.

People used to get around on foot, by using a currach or by chariot, which some probably had to pay to use: coins, at the time, were minted by different rulers and acquired through trade and gift. Examples are the 10 AD (which had the image of a horse and the letters “CVNO” on), the 40 AD (which had the letters “VR” on, sorrounded by a circle of big dots) and the 41 AD (which had letters “C” and “F” portaied on, separated by a little dot and all sorrounded by two semi-circles).
