Considering the title, the person who is looking at the glass seems to be sad and alone.

Continuing with the reading, the impression of sadness remains and can be perceived in the whole poem. In the first room you can see more with the exclamation "Would God it came to pass": the protagonist seems to suffer because of a disappointment of love to the point of wanting to die.

Even pronouncing the poem aloud, one feels a tone of sadness and loneliness.

The poem consists of three stanzas with an equal model of quatrains. In all the poetry there is a repetition in the pronoun "My"; this repetition wants to emphasize the fact that the protagonist thinks only of himself.
