APPUNTI SU ROMANZO

The novel is a narrative form of communication and there is a story line that tells about situations connected to the story told. The story is verbalized by different narrative techniques. You can have a third person narrator. He can be external, omniscient, intrusive and omniscient (when he is inside the text). He can speak from the point of view of a character or adopt the interior monologue of a character, or he can also use the stream of consciousness technique. He can use telling or showing or he can be a first person narrator or the first person narrator, who is also the protagonist, the eye-witness and the narrator himself.

The setting consists of references to space and time also investigated from the symbolic or metaphorical point of view. A traditional element of the novel is the character. A character can be either a flat character or a round character that shows a development along the story.
