RELAZIONI INTERPERSONALI E COME QUESTE FORMANO LA PERSONALITÀ DI UNA PERSONA NEL CORSO DELLA SUA VITA

Human being is a social animal. Society, life with others is fundamental for his well-being. According to this, it is clear that relations are the basis of this well-being. But what are relations? Relations are what make humans come into contact with others, they make life in society possible.

Relations are also responsible for the development of humans’ personality, which greatly depends on the first years of people’s life. Our personality gradually changes when we grow up, and it is influenced by the people we see, people we like, our friends, and last but not least, our family. Our character forms during our life when we come into contact with different situations, which can affect us positively or negative. Moreover, what plays an important role in the development of someone’s personality are judgments of the people around us. Judgements build our identity, so we can say our way of relating with others describes us.

Therefore also the people we choose depend on our personality. Why we choose that person as a friend instead of another? It depends on the affinity that person has with us, which means, that if he/she is similar to us we’ll get on well with that person, because he’s the most similar personality to ours.

Considering what have been said above, relations are important for our well-being also because, being the human a social animal, he needs to find someone who can speak to about his problems, about his feelings.

However, personality can be affected is a positive or a negative way, according to the people we choose during the different stages of our lives. Apart from the first years, were children tend to pay attention only at their parents, one of the main part of the development of a person is adolescence. When a child grows up and become a teenager he becomes more rebellious and tends to pay attention at his peers more than at his parents. Spending a lot of time with friends contributes to form their personality. Moreover, someone’s personality is also influenced by the contest he grows up in, which includes, apart from friends, his family, the school, sport and other activities.

To conclude, relations are the system that keep human beings into contact. People’s personality depend on the relations they have, because they’re constantly judged and influenced by his similar. According to this, people affect personalities one another, particularly when they are children and youngsters, when they’re more “flexible”. Society is the place when human beings live, and without it there’s no human being, but only a beast, because a person without relations with his similar can’t form an identity, so he can’t live with other people in the big system of relations that we call society.
