Vanessa, 30, discovered 12 years ago that her son, a 4-year-old child, had a brain cancer. Vanessa has explained us the shock she had had at the beginning, sleepless nights and her desire of giving up… however she didn’t: her son needed her help and she wouldn’t have ever let him face that problem only with his own strength. Therefore, she started enquiring about cancer disease and looking for cures. Unfortunately the best doctors in brain cancer field weren’t in Italy, so they had to moved to France. She also needed to learn French and found a new job. There were hard times for Vanessa, but she has never complained because she knew that her son could be under doctor’s control and be better only this way. The city where Vanessa and her son had been living founded a partnership that still exists. It organizes dinners and events gaining money which is sent to Vanessa. Today the child is 16 and Vanessa keeps being strong.

To conclude, we let you read some Vanessa’s advice:

  1. Don’t ever give up: mothers are stronger than any other human being;
  2. Live every moment with your son to the full;
  3. Don’t treat him as a sick one, help him to feel common.
