1. In my opinion proper love is an healty and fruitful relationship where both people feel themselves, finding qualities or flaws about the other but without conferring judgements. According to me this is the definition of an intelligent love, thanks to which people grow up and learn to share.
Surely some of the most relevant qualities and behaviours useful to lead to a happy marriage are confidence, reciprocal trust and a communal vision of the relationship (for example having similar goals, like or dislike comparable activities, etcetera).
2. All the pictures show the celebration of a marriage, so they all have in common the representation of the same institution, but what distinguishes them is culture. Indeed each picture portrays a different type of celebration depending on its culture and traditions.
3. In my country marriage is still popular but not how it was in the past, indeed today both men and women can choose to be indipendent and emancipated. Anyway, usually people get married at young age, between the 20s and the 30s.
I live in Italy so here the clebration of the wedding is rather simple and “classic”. The wedding ceremony can take place in a church, with the command of Catholic Church and the priest, or in another location with the coomand of Municipal and the mayor. After the celebration the couple just married go to have a big lunch with all the families and friends. Then there’s a party where people dance and sing together and give gifts to the wife and the husband, so the party goes on until the night.

1. Naznees was thinking about her young sister Hasina’s marriage, that was not arranged, so they supposed to share an authentic love. Instead Nazneen did not protest to an arranged marriage, so shw was married with a man called Chanu. He firstly seemed king and gentle, with no intentions of beating her. Anyway one day Nazneen secretly listened him talking at the phone with someone, describing her as a simple “unspoilt girl”. He said he didn’t complained about her but kept making a list about her phisical aspect’s flaws. Listening to his considerations Nazneen felt naive beacuse she realized that all of her initial thoughts (especially that he really loved her) were foolish.
2. The text is narrated with a third-person narrator who manifests the protagonist’s point of view.
3. The characters are presented with a human sense of comedy that allows them to reallly “live”. They have a complete rapresentation that grow during the noveltogether with Monica Ali.
4. Even in the extract there’s some comic touch by Monica Ali, for example when she talks about Chanu’s rolls and makes fun of them.
5. The theme of marriage is developed in doifferent ways: Hasina, the protagonist’s sister, fight for a real love, where as Nazneen think it is pointless to “kick against the fate”, so she give up on her own will.
6. In the future I would like to get married and have a big family because I still believe in the values of pure love and I think that marriage could be a formal way to define the bond and relationship.
7. I would never accept an arranged marriage beacuse in my opinion it is pointless and it make lose authenticity and genuineness of real love. Indeed according to me love is a matter of choice, so one’s peculiarities are absolutely subjective. So I really can’t see any adavantages in arranged marriage that concern the idea of love.
