Can

Can’s character is really important; indeed, he is present in the scene also if he is not there. Everybody has an opinion about him whether positive or negative. The fact that the writer of the script decided to make Can enters in the scene exactly when Sanem insults and make fun of him is a narrative technique to see his reaction and to make Sanem and Can’s story start and continue.

Can calmly responds asking Sanem’s name, then he moves over calling a workers’ meeting. He shows confidence, control and rationality.

He is not afraid to say what he wants; he goes straight to the point without caring about others’ opinions. He wants to get his work done, and until now he has seemed quite serious and efficient. “I want tea. Turkish tea. Two” He has simple and clear ideas bout what he wants, even about what he wants to eat. Not blaming Sanem for what she said before and instead asking a tea for her too shows maturity.
