The object of the present text is to provide an analysis about the director’s strategies of “Early Bird” to present the main character Can. The beginning of the text creates curiosity in the reader because everyone tell about Can’s origins, his personality and someone allows themselves to do some gossip. Therefore the director focus the attention of the reader on the character that he will know later on. In this way the character has a reputation before he even appears in the scene. It is important to underline that a girl belongs to speak ill of Can’s personality. Her name is Sanem. Her behaviour increas the reader’s expectations he becomes curious to know how Can will react to these provocations. After this indirect inroduction through gossip, the protagonist is presented in medias res with a question: “What’s your name?” Only with this question the reader understands he is a controlled person but he can’t get a concrete idea about Can. The strategy used by the director is the technique of “showing” because there isn’t a figure that summarize the content of the dialogue. To conclude, reading the text the reader understands that Can is a determined person and he know what is his object.
