In this text I’m going to analyze the way the director creates the character of the mechanic. In order to reach my goal I will summarise the scene where he is introduced to understand what the director wanted the audience to understand of the character. The mechanic is introduced in the story by an inconvenient happened to the protagonist, Zeynep. In the first scene it can be observed that he takes his job seriously because he says:”What has the patient got”, so this means that he considers the car like a person. In the same scene he looks very kind and understanding towards his mad “sister”. Indeed he tells his other sister to let her free to do what she pleases. The watcher can also understand it in the next scene, when during the conversation between the protagonist and the young mechanic’s sister, his sister tells he helps the neighborhood children keeping them out of the street and giving them food and a roof. The director makes him look as a human being with strong values. Indeed, he doesn’t want to be paid by Zeynep for fixing the tire. He believes he owns it to her because his neighborhood kids punched the tire. From the last scene you can understand that he is fascinated by her.He senses that she is not a snobbish girl like many others because she helps her sister in difficulty, in the mud, without being afraid of getting dirty. I think he will try to reach her to give her her hair clip back. As a result, they will start seeing each other more often. From time to time, his mother learns of her and remembers which family she came from, so she forbids her son to deceive her. But he has already fallen in love with the girl and sends his mother's plans to marriage.
