ACTIVITIES OF THE PRINCIPLE OF UTILITY

1- THE DEFINITION OF UTILITY: Utilitarianism was a political, economic and social doctrine which was widespread at the beginning of the 19th century among the industrial middle class whose interests it suited. Jeremy Bentham was the main theorist of this doctrine. The basic idea behind all of them is to in some sense maximize utility. Utility means well-being. Indeed utility tends to produce benefits, advantage, pleasure, good and happiness, and prevent the happening of mischief, pain, evil and unhapinness. 

2- THE PRINCIPLE ON WHICH IT IS BASED: The principle is to maximize utility, in order to produce benefit, advantage, pleasure, good or happiness, and prevent the happening of mischief, pain, evil or unhappiness.

3- THE WAY IN WHICH UTILITY CAN AFFECT POLICES: Economic policies are mainly geared toward fostering as much well-being for as many people as possible
