  1. A che cosa devo prestare attenzione quando devo fare il plurale di un sostantivo che termina in –y? Devo controllare se prima della “y” c’è una vocale o una consonante. Nel primo caso il sostantivo terminerà in “–ys”; nel secondo la “y” va tolta e viene sostituita da “-ies”
  2. Qual è la differenza fondamentale tra italiano e inglese quando si usa un pronome personale soggetto? In inglese il pronome va sempre espresso.
  3. Osserva la seguente frase: La Francia è una nazione. Essa è in Europa. Quale errore si può commettere nel tradurla in inglese? Perché? Si potrebbe pensare di utilizzare il pronome “she”, pensando alla Francia come nome femminile. Non essendo però una persona bisogna utilizzare il pronome “it”.

The English Language Day is celebrated on 23 April, the date traditionally observed as both the birthday and date of death of William Shakespeare.  The Day is the result of a 2010 initiative by the Department of Public Information, establishing language days for each of the Organization's six official languages. The purpose of the UN's language days is to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization. The day often features book-reading events, English quizzes, poetry and literature exchanges, and other activities that promote the English language.

2.Esiste un caso in cui si usa l’ordinale senza l’articolo the. Quale? Fornisci un esempio.
