Quando devo fare il plurale di un sostantivo che termina in y devo fare attenzione alla lettera che precede la y, perché se è una vocale il plurale della parola si formerà aggiungendo solamente una s alla parola al singolare mentre se è una consonante il plurale si formerà sostituendo la y con una i e aggiungendo alla parola es.

La differenza fondamentale tra italiano e inglese quando si usa un pronome personale soggetto è che : mentre in italiano il pronome personale soggetto può essere sottointeso in inglese va sempre espresso.

In inglese si può commettere l’errore di tradurre essa con she al posto che con it, perché in italiano anche le cose sono o maschili o femminili mentre in inglese le cose non hanno un genere quindi si sostituiscono tutte con il pronome it.

Saint Patrick’s day is one of the most important Christian festivities. The first St. Patrick’s day Festival was held on March 17th 1996. In 1997 it became a three-day event, by 2000 it was a fout-day event and by 2006 the festival was five days long’s, Patrick day always falls in the season of Lent and it is always celebrated on March 17th , because it’s believed that is the day on which Patrick died. Whit the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all business close on that day. People celebrate with parades, wearing green clothes and drinking alcohols. From March 15th to 19th there are so many streets performances, family carnivals, comedies, night shows. Lots of Irish people wear a bunch shamrock on their caps or green, orange and white after the colors of their flags; girls traditionally dye their hair green; artist draw shamrock signs on people’s cheeks bas a cultural symbol. Being a Christian festivity, St. Patrick’s day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and to offer prayers for missionaries who are all around the word.

Il caso in cui il numero ordinale non deve essere preceduto dal the è il caso in cui il cardinale è preceduto da un giorno della settimana

In inglese la data si esprime con i numeri ordinali mentre in italiano ,ad eccezione del primo giorno del mese (è il primo maggio), si esprime con i numeri cardinali.
