Early bird scene 39

The most important element in this scene in the notebook. Infact it rappresents the relationship between Sanem and Can, from the first time they met. This can be defined like the cause of their quarrel that we see at the end of this scene. For making a summary, in this scene we see that Can and Sanem have a meeting with an important publisher: infact Can wants Sanem gives her notebook to this person beacuse he wants to have her book published. But Sanem became angry and offended by this thing beacuse she believe that Can is maneuvering her: infact she says that she wants to be free, she wants to do what she want and she wants that he let her to arrange by herself. This notebook will lead to a dispute between Can and Yigit, a Sanem’s friends, that in the end will be the cause of the break of Sanem and Can relationship.

This notebook is a simbol, and reppresents the feelings between Can and Sanem. On the other sides it rappresents the future of their love story. This put in contrast apparence and reality.

Another important point is the Can and Sanem relationship: it is divided into 3 moments.

The first one is rappresented by the intention of publishing the Sanem’s notebook: we can say that Can, that is a really padronate, stabborn and possesive person, dosen’t want Sanem publishes her notebook beacuse he is jealous.

The second moment take place to the Can’s hut: here is a quarrel between Can and Yigit, beacuse Yigit burns the Sanem’ s book secretary but after he blames Can.

The third moment take place at the hospital, after their conflict. Here Can and Sanem have a conversation about the notebook and about what happened at the hut. Here, Can conffesses that he didn’t read her book about their love story. Sanem is angry and she is disappointed. She doesn’t know if believe Can: at the end Can decides to leave beacuse he didn’t want to attack Yigit and he is disappointed with Sanem beacuse she doesn’t believe in him. He thinks that running away will help the situation.
