In the present text I'm going to discuss the setting in the 30th episode of the romantic comedy “Erkency Kus”, (Early Bird in english).

The watcher can immediately see it’ s night, very late. The spectator is also plunged from the background scene to the inside one.

In this first scene the colors are very important because they affect the atmosphere.

There is a contrast between dark, cold colors of the night and hot, impressive one of the fire, which may have a metaphoric meaning because it means love, it's a passionate element that anticipates the next scene.

The director wants to underline different emotions and attitudes between Sanem and Can, who are in contrast.

Sanem went to the cottage because she has understood that the conflict between her and Can must have been born because of the problem of her perfume.

In a second moment the director exploited the slow up to focus the attention on Sanem's eyes, which express all the emotions of the girl.

In the cottage there is Pollen, who reassures Can and makes a proposal to him, but he doesn't answer.

The scene creates a multiple function, it creates a contrast, besides it focuses the attention on inner emotions and the background.

Can has different reactions to Sanem and to Polen. He doesn't give a lot of importance to Polen's actions but on the other side when he sees Sanem he doesn't expect she comes and so he is surprised. Polen insists with the new engagement for Can but he doesn't give her any answer, in this way the director wants the audience to understand he isn't interested in Polen. Polen realizes Can doesn't give her attention, she feels neglected and so she goes away. The used the director made of the volume is very important because it means Can is speachless and he is taken by surprise.
