ANALYSIS ON “EVELINE”’S STRUCTURE - 3rd person narrator - Narrative structure - Almost only past tenses - Few lines of dialogue - The story is based on Eveline’s past - Almost the entire story is set in Eveline’s room - The beginning is based on Eveline’s memories about her childhood in the streets she’s looking at out of the window - The central part of the text is full of reflections and hope for the future, according to her past life which she want to leave behind her - The end brings Eveline back to her past, which she’s not able to leave behind her back - The story starts whit the protagonists’s past and ends with it - Eveline’s dependance on her past conditions her present decision
