ROOTING FOR YOU

Just taking the title in to consideration the reader expect something dynamic thanks to the use of the proggressive aspect in ''rooting''. In addition/what's more/besides/also, the indirect YOU pronoun is the most stressed word in the title so that the one may be curious to understand why the speaking voice in the song wants TO ROOT for a specific YOU.

According the Cambidge dictionary, to root for somebody means to show support for someone who is doing something difficult. It is worth saying that without reading the lyrics it is impossible to anticipate any reason for the title. The only clear information is that for the singer YOU is the privileged reference person. Now, considering layout the reader can realise the song is arranged into two verse and the chourouse having different functions. While the verse provides information about the content, chourous adds the emotional level relying on a refrain structure that puts YOU at the focus of the message.

A denotative analysis introduces the reader to singer's love story and conveges her inner mood and feelings. There is an immediate contrast between the winter break and the verb ''burn'' that is generally connected to something hot.what's more the singer's desire to see the partne in underlined by the word ''again''. As a result there is a strong feeling of loss in the singer's mood who is ready to root for him even before meeting him and desoite he has not kept his promise, as the expression ''like I told you I would'' highlight.

The desperate feeling of less and disillusionment of the speaking voice is conveged by the repetition of the subject pronoun I, that adding a lyrical tone to the song.

The declaration of the singer's readiness to always love him comes to surface at line five but she expresses some doubts about that because since she has often felt lonely even in his presence,she is at one time happy to be with him again and on the other scared of loneliness. I think is true that when we fall in love with somone we only see him/her, and this person become unique for us. But but is uncorrect focus only with one person, and look at her/him like something perfect that never wrong, because sometimes are the people we love more that hurts us.
