I have been studying poems, short stories and other forms of literature for eleven years now. When I was at primary school we learned few poems because we started learning to read.
My mum passed down the passion for literature and I have liked it since I was a little girl.

In the middle school I studied so many novels and poems.
My favourite writer is Ungaretti. I really like his poem “M’illumino d’immenso”. It is very short but it full of meaning and so emotional. It isn’t simple as it seems.

Last year, due to the lockdown, we studied from home via computer.
At first everyone was confused, but later we manage to adapt.
Out Italian teacher made herself available and helped us despite the difficulties. In fact the online lessons are more difficult to follow.
At that time we studied many poems and some narrative stories. In particular we studied “I Promessi Sposi” in detail. I love it.
The teacher held my attention from beginning to the end of each lesson.
My favourite character is Monaca di Monza and I made some researches about her do learn about her tragic and complicated life.
At the same time we developed knowledge about figures of speech.

This year I will be studying literary texts and learn how to approach textual analysis in English.
I expect studying literature in a foreign language is more difficult because you must understand the language and at the same time you must analyze it.
However, I am quite happy because I like literature and I think studying a text in its original language is a good thing.
My fear is not to understand what the poem or other forms of literature want to communicate to me.
