Pag. 36 es. 1

I wore my skates for the first time exactly five years ago, in 2015. I was 10 at the time and the first thing they made me do was just go around letting the skates go on by themselves. It was really embarassing, expecially since the other girls were practicing much more difficult stuff. Nonetheless, we all start somewhere right?

The storm got heavier and heavier, until it completely filled our vision with a gray color. My close friend, Aurora, was with me on the bus; we were coming back from our our friend's house, since we had been working on an assignment about the World War 2 there. Because I couldn't see much out of the bus window, I turned to see the worried face of my friend - she was texting her mother to let her know the situation we were in. The bus was stuck in the same point for about half an hour. We tried staying calm and pass the time in one way or another - playing some games on our phones, playing hangman and other silly pastimes - but nothing could really keep us distracted for long, due to the sound of the raindrops on the metal. Eventually, the rain started getting less and less heavy and the bus could finally move again, after one and a half hours. At last it was over and I breathed a sigh of relief!

es. FOCUS ON PRELIMINARY

A deadly curiousity

When I opened the gift box I found a book about the story of a 16-year-old girl that killed a person just to know how it would feel like. The story was rather creepy and I was getting chills while reading it. It described every little detail about the murder: the time and location of the crime, the method used by the killer, the looks of the dead body and the backstory of the victim. I instantly regretted reading it and tried getting rid of it over and over again, but I would always find it the next morning on my bedside table. I didn't know what to do. Until one day, when I woke up, the book wasn't there anymore. It had completely vanished from existance, leaving me with a vivid bittersweet memory of the entire lure, that still haunts me every now and then in my dreams; in the end I still don't know why I had to go through that traumatic experience.

The last time I practiced skating was last Saturday and, when I was entering the place, a really funny thing happened: since the door cannot be opened from the outside, there has to be someone to open it from the inside when a person wants to come in and, since I was the closest one, I opened the door when my teammate Emma had to come in. Because the others were already warming up, we didn't pay attention to the door that, due to a strong wing, slammed shut at full speed. The hit was so powerful that the bottom glass of the door fell off, causing a loud noise that alarmed the trainers. They didn't make a big deal out of it fortunately, but they would have if the glass had shattered.

- 2 years ago during the evening
- Because I heard some rumors about this forest
- It was dark and the only light source was the moon
- I discovered a secret enchanted temple

es. 13

An interesting discovery

It was dark. I had been wondering in that forest without any idea of where I was for the last 5 hours and I was desperate to find something. Anything. I saw lots of affascinating things: wild animals of various species, reflecting bodies of water and plants of curious shapes.
After another hour of walking, I came upon a path i've never seen before and, after inspecting from the distance, I noticed a small, green light at the end of it. It was barely visible, nut I was sure I wasn't hallucinating. It was there.
As soon as I stepped on the path, the torches located at both sides of the path, that in the previous dark of the night weren't visible, suddenly lighted up one by one. I took the closest one to me and I started following the path, now visible from a great distance too.
As I was getting closer to the mysterious light, I started recognising a face of a wild lion sculpted in a mountain. As I put my foot on the last stepping stone, the ancient temple suddendly came to life, showing me all of its majesty. I finally found it!
