FIRST STANZA - ANALYSIS

In the first stanza the poet talks about love through a metaphor where love is definite by sweet something. The poet uses words which are all characterized by long and open vowel. It offers idea of the fullness of love. The poet appeals to the sense of taste that is one of the five sense. This sense allows the reader to savor love. It is coherent with the metaphor because the function of the metaphor is doing judgment. Right from the beginning the sound of lines are “full” for example “Love, Ripe, Blum”, this sound “fill the mouth”. In the third line “Growing on a purple tree” the poet uses the gerundive because the poet wants to let understand that love commutes and grows. Love is something that we like. The color of purpose represents the dynamic effect that love has and the concept of opening. It is the color of ecclesiastical clothes of the big ceremony. The function of the first tercet is let a definition through a metaphor. The function of second tercet is demonstrate the concept of love that is anticipates from the metaphor and he conceives. The poet doesn’t let a possibility of reply because the poet uses the imperative “Taste”. Then we have the verb tense of future because it indicates a consequence.
