THE IGNOBLE PROCESSION

The title combines the adjective “Ignoble” with the word “Procession”, which is a contradiction as the reader doesn't expect a procession to be ignoble, so he’s curious about the reason why this procession is it.

The poem does not follow a precise pattern; indeed the lines are shortened as the poem progresses and focus the reader's attention on the last word.

Furthermore, the first verse ends with a full stop, the second with a comma and the third without anything.

The poem is written in the first person and the random arrangement refers to the technique of the flow of consciousness, or rather the poet's thoughts are directly laid out on the paper, as they appear in his mind.
