Write a letter to your teacher.

Good morning teacher, how are you? In this letter I will explain you how I spent my Christmas holidays.

My holidays have been different from the others, like everyone’s this year.

I usually spend my holidays with my grandparents and all my family in Puglia, but this year because of the Covid-19 sanitary emergency I had to stay here in Friuli Venezia Giulia with my parents and my brother.

My favourite day of the whole year is December 24^th because there is an air of celebration and we are all together in the family.

On the 24^th afternoon I helped my mother to cook and set the table for dinner. My mom and I made salmon pasta and then we baked fish with potatoes. After dinner we played with board games and then we went to sleep. Next morning we got up early to unwrap the presents. This year I received a handbag, a bracelet and a pair of earrings. And you? What did you get for Christmas?

My second favourite day of holiday was December 31^st. On this day I ate so many good things. For dinner we ate fish dishes. We had pasta with salmon, one of my favourite dishes, squids, shrimps. We had also a slice of cotechino with some lentils. At midnight we had a piece of Panettone, even if I prefer Pandoro, with some sparkling wine to celebrate the New Year. What did you do on New Year’s Eve? After dinner my family and I played some board games, like Bingo and we watched TV while we waited for midnight.

When midnight came I thought that that very difficult year for everyone was finally over.

I hope this year will be much better than 2020 and this pandemic will finally end and everyone can go back to school.
