HOMEWORK FOR HOLYDAYS
29th December 2020 Hello Miss Beltramini, How are you? I want to tell you about our holiday in Corvara, last winter.
Well, my father and I love skiing and every year we go skiing at Monte Zoncolan or in Tarvisio. Last winter, my father wanted to go skiing in a very beautiful place, like San Candido or Alta Badia, and, in the end, we booked a room in a hotel in Corvara. I’ve never seen Corvara before, and for me everything was new. We went there on the 23rd of February. The weather was sunny and cold, perfect for skiing. And, of course, there was a lot of snow!! We arrived in the centre of Corvara at 12:00 pm, and then we had lunch in a pretty restaurant near the ski run. After lunch, we took the luggage out of the car and, at 3:00 pm, my father and I were ready to start to skiing. We went to Colfosco, a small and pretty village near Corvara, and we skied for two hours, until 5:00 pm, when the ski run closed. After having a shower, I listened to music for an half hour, before having dinner. We met some friends at the restaurant and we had dinner together. After dinner, we came back to the hotel and at 10:30 pm I went to bed. The day after, we had breakfast with our friends, at 7:30 am, and at 8:15 am we were all ready for skiing. This time, we went to Arabba and we saw the Marmolada. There was snow everywhere there! We skied all morning, and at 1:30 pm we had lunch. I remember, I chose wiener - schnitzel with chips. The sun was high in the sky, and it wasn’t a cold day. We skied until 4:30 pm, a little less than the day before, because my father was just a bit tired! (and me too!) My mother, while we skied, usually went walking through the town. After skiing, we watched TV together, and then we had dinner. There was a different menu for each day, but, if you wanted, you could choose different dishes. There was usually meat or soup, and a dessert, like ice cream or cake. On the third day in Corvara the weather was terrible: it was cold and very foggy, the worst weather for skiing. Anyway, we had a lot of fun and in the night, it snowed too! On the last day there, we went walking through the woods near the town and we took some wonderful photos! At midday, we had a snack in a small bar, before coming back. It was a fantastic holiday, and I want to go to Corvara again, one day.
And what about you, Teacher? Have you ever been in Corvara?
Bye for now, Chiara Pozzar |
