Hello Teacher!

How are you? I am very well and I hope you too. How did you spend these holidays? I would have

preferred a few more days, but I am not complaining. I spent most of my holidays in my

grandparents’ mountain house, in Sella Nevea (above Udine). Unfortunately I was not able to go

with my friends as I usually do but with my mother, my grandmother and my “almost sister”. My

mother is called Paola, my grandmother is called Valentina and my “almost sister” is called Elisa.

My mum has wavy brown hair, green eyes and a medium build, my grandmother has wavy gray

and brown hair and blue eyes (although she says they are green). She also has an average build.

Elisa has curly brown hair, blue eyes and a slim build.

Sella Nevea is a very small town above Udine in the municipality of Chiusaforte. It has maybe 50

inhabitants and for me it is paradise. I have loved the nvea saddle since I was little and my

grandparents (from my mom) would take me to this little corner of happiness every weekend. Now

saddle nevea is my happiness for me. When I go there I always feel good, if I am sad that place

always manages to make me smile. The house is not very large but enough to feel at ease. It has

a kitchen connected to the living room, two bedrooms, mine which has a bunk bed and a small

desk, while the master bedroom has a double bed and a huge wardrobe. Finally there is also a

fairly large terrace with a table ... in summer we usually eat there when the weather is good.

Although Sella Nevea is a relatively small country there are many tourist attractions. There are

various ski slopes also connected with Slovenia (the top where you can go skiing is called Sella

Prevala), while the top where I go skiing is called Kanin. Another popular tourist attraction,

especially in summer, are the various shelters that can be reached by long walks or by mountain

bike. My favorite is the Gilberti refuge (the one on the top of the mountain where I ski). The latest

tourist attraction are the various adventure parks, loved by small children.

In Sella Nevea I hardly know anyone. Both because there is only a bar, a ski rental and the place

where you go to get ski passes and because there are not many people. I only know the owner of

the bar and the owner of the ski rental. Every so often when I go to the Montasio hut I see the son

of the owner who is very nice. The hut is beautiful there are cows that are often grazing and there

are also dogs that guide the cows. The oldest dog is 9 years old and his name is Tobia while the

younger one is 4 years old and his name is Jack.

Sella nevea is certainly a fascinating place that also attracts many visitors, but it often becomes

boring because there is too much silence and tranquility ... Being a lively and perky girl, I often risk

getting bored if I don’t find an appropriate pastime for which to colamre these. I am an emotional

girl and when I find nothing to do I surround myself with ugly weightlifters that at my age you have,

however, that make you feel a mix of emotions that are not always positive.

I still consider myself a child because sometimes I still find myself making snowmen, rolling in the

snow and arriving home like a wet chick. In Sella Nevea there are no problems wandering alone

through alleys and streets for the simple fact that only old people live and are also willing to help

I am not complaining about how I am living these holidays ... online school often devastates you and

so every now and then disconnecting is good. I am enjoying them and I think this is the most

important thing and although the covid has ruined some important moments the people who want

me have always been by my side.

Even Christmas this year was tough. Not being able to see friends and relatives, Christmas was

yet another confirmation that Covid has overwhelmed everyone’s life, including me.

This year I also met fantastic people who have become fundamental.

How are you spending these holidays? Are you relaxing?

 Lot of love,

Marta
