IMAGINE BY JOHN LENNON

I’m going to write about the song “Imagine” by John Lennon (1940-1980). This song has been published in 1971.

In this song John Lennon imagines an ideal world without divisions and with more brotherhood and equality.

In the first stanza the poet asks readers to live their lives day by day. He says “Imagine there's no heaven” so maybe John Lennon didn’t believe in any religion.

In the second stanza he says us that we live in the world and not only in our country. John Lennon promotes peace in this part of the song and he says that we are all the same so we have no resons to kill or die.

In the chorus the poet invites readers to join him and be dreamers.

In the last stanza John Lennon says to immagine a world without divisions, material possesions and he also talks about “brotherhood of man”.

In conclusion the song is about equality, peace and brotherhood. John Lennon says us to live as one world and so to be less individualistic. I think that he had an idealistic vision, but I agree with all the contents of this song.
