How is Zeynep’s graduation speech connected to episode 1?

Right from the start, Zeynep’s speech is strictly connected to her past story and her experience. Indeed, first of all, she thanks her teachers, because they believed in her and allowed her to make her dreams come true. They also create the occasion to teach her how to cope with life and with difficulties. Therefore, the first part is connected with the final one, where Zeynep dedicates her graduation diploma  to her brother, who she had promised to graduate in Law.

The element the two parts have in common is Zeynep’s dream to become a lawyer which she finally did

The girl thanks her two mothers, the most important women in her life, because they represent the two different worlds she lived in. Therefore, there is a comparison, which reminds episode 1. In particular, it refers to the meeting between the two women, while Zeynep was going to university. The ladies had a little quarrel because they found out they were too different, but they had the love for Zeynep and the desire to see her married in common.

After the mothers, the girl thanks a very important person, but she doesn’t name him/her. She clearly refers to Mehdi, who accepted her and her story from the beginning. This part of the speech reminds different scenes of the first episode, for example the first meeting between the two characters in the garage, the second meeting on the stairs and finally the date at the bar where they decide about their future life. After three meetings they knew the life of each other better than other people.

At the end of the speech, Zeynep talks about her brother and tells the audience some memories of her childhood, that appear at the beginning of the episode 1. Therefore, she highlights the importance of her past, which makes her what she is one more time

Considering all the speech, Zeynep tells all her story step by step, naming and thanking people whom she met in her journey, from the teachers (who have known her for four years and represent a happy and present moment) to her brother (who belongs to her childhood and reminds her some bad memories).
