Shen Jin was having indigestion after being outwitted by General Chu and had to finish all the food during the dinner with the court artist. He then took pity on her and led her out for a walk to help with her digestion.

Shen Jin’s mother sent her a letter and an embroidery pattern. General Chu noticed that the pattern resembled the one in the secret chamber. He brought her there. It was beneath a tomb in the forest. Shen Jin managed to pick the lock for them to enter the next room. There were booby traps and General Chu protected her from flying arrows with one grazing his back. They then came across a coffin. General Chu placed Shen Jin’s pendant on a groove and it opened up. He retrieved a seal from the coffin. 

Back home, Shen Jin helped him to tend to his wound. She was moved by all the scars on his body. She told him that she had understood why he had to be known as a demonic general. That was because he needed to scare off enemies and protect the country. Shen Jin found that the real General Chu was very different from the one that she had heard. She admitted that she had fallen for him. He also apologized for suspecting her to be a spy. She kissed him. She runed off when there was a knock on the door.

Shen Jin was happy and planning to consummate their marriage that night. She was waiting for him but General Chu was thinking of his late parents who had died during an attack when he was a kid. He wanted to investigate the truth and also wrote a divorce letter for Shen Jin.
