Exercise 18
Well, I Lived in Paris when I was 20 years old. I spent 5 great years there! I didn’t work there, I studied Art at university.
I didn’t have a house of my own, but I shared a nice flat with a young Italian girl, Melissa. She was a singer and she had a lovely voice.
She didn’t play a musical instrument, but some friends of hers did and very well. Our flat was near the Sacre Coeur, the area of the artists and musicians, and we often invited our friends to have dinner.
We didn’t cook very well, but we had great fun all together. We sometimes didn’t sleep much and it wasn’t easy to study the day after… What wonderful memories!
Exercise 19-20
Two years ago I passed two week in Puglia with my family. We never went there but I loved that place: I saw trulli, typical Puglia’s abitations, and the sea was beautiful! The best thing was food: I had a lot of taralli and burrata.

Cecilia deve dire: “I was born in 2001.” Il verbo nascere si esprime con due parole, mentre in italiano
- Usando il simple past, in quale forma di frase è importante sapere se un verbo è regolare o irregolare? Perché?
è fondamentale sapere se il verbo è regolare o irregolare nella forma affermativa poiché in tutte ,e atre forme c’è l’ausiliare did e il verbo va alla forma base.
- Osserva le seguenti frasi: Paolo non scrisse una lettera. / Paolo scrisse una lettera? Quando le traduco in inglese, qual è la differenza sostanziale con l’italiano?
La differenza sta che in inglese, per esprimere una frase negativa, va usato l’ausiliare coniugato in questo caso al simple past e il verbo va alla forma base

nella frase ci sono due errori, la frase corretta è la seguente: Miss Sheridan, I’m sorry but I didn’t do the exercises because I wasn’t very well.
