Considering the sonnet On His Blindness. The sonnet is very personal and is built around one of the tragedies of Milton's life: he in fact began to fail around 1644 and in 1655 he lost his sight at the age of 47. The sonnet consists of two quatrains and two triplets, divided by the enjambement. The question that arises from the text is whether there is a will of God that must be accepted. In the first quatrain he speaks with God. In addition, in the second sentence he emphasizes mercantile ethics.
