Up to  4LSCA - DDI. WEEK FROM APRIL 26th to May 2nd, 2021Up to task document list

I’m Ginevra Mosetti and I attend the class 4LSCA. Following the civic education project carried out with my classmates, we carried out a survey on Friuli Venezia Giulia and on the occupational transition of some sectors: publishing, migratory flows, technology and health. The final objective of this project is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our region.

As for the technology we focused on renewable sources of sustainable energy, the territory provides numerous natural sources exploitable, but due to the lack of private investors and therefore of funds, the region proves to be deficient in this sector. The solution would be to exploit the resources that the territory provides, enhancing the future of renewable energy. Although the number of S.T.E.M. graduates in the region is high compared to the national average, jobs are scarce. This is due to the limited number of specialised structures that could provide jobs. The solution that the region could adopt is to create new jobs and to promote new specialized computer courses.

As far as migration flows are concerned, the data collected over the years show that, in proportion to the number of migrants in the region, the number of migrants is higher. The situation has remained constant over the years. Foreigners occupy 13.5% of the total number of employees, a figure slightly higher than 11.2% of the average number of foreigners working in Italy. The number of foreigners working in Friuli has increased in recent years, especially with regard to children under twenty. In the light of these data it is understood that in this area Friuli Venezia Giulia has an advantage compared to other Italian regions, in fact many young foreigners are employed in work and this represents an economic resource for the region. The objective of the region is to continue along this line.

Let’s consider publishing in Friuli. After an analysis of the book market we can say that Friuli Venezia Giulia, which were the most frequent in the country for reading books. The citizens of Friuli Venezia Giulia win the second place in the national ranking in the reading of newspapers. In proportion to the national average, the number of publishing houses in Friuli is rather low, because of the lack of funds it is difficult for a company to finance the production of books. In order to improve this situation, the region should invest more in culture and finance the production of books.

As far as health is concerned, the figures show that the number of employees is higher than the national average. 60% of annual expenditure is spent on the purchase of medicines and medical media. The local health coverage proves to be efficient, as there are numerous structures scattered around the territory. The objective of the region should be to increase the number of equipment and reduce costs, making medical costs more affordable.
